Physiotherapy for Scoliosis
Exercise for scoliosis must be addressed differently for each side of the body. Working symmetrically in an asymmetrical body will only reinforce the already present muscle and joint imbalances.

Physiotherapy Sessions for Scoliosis
The initial session looks at curve type and assesses muscle strength and flexibility. Treatment will follow a pattern of lengthening the body, derotating the curves then strengthening the muscles and joints. Additional treatment may involve:
- Manual therapy to help encourage your body into a new and less compressive pattern
- The use of K tape to offset the curves
- Dry needling in areas of stiffness
- Using the diversity of the Pilates equipment to allow for each side of the body to work independently thereby helping to elongate and de-rotate as needed
